The English Electric Lightning F2 was a British single-engine, twin-seat fighter aircraft that served as an interceptor during the 1960s and 1970s. The F2 version was introduced in 1962 and later modified in 1968, becoming the F2A. The F2A featured a square-cut fin, kinked leading edges, and an enlarged ventral tank, improving its combat air patrol time to around 2 hours.
